No, but I was in Killeen for work back in Oct 2001. I had lunch with an engineer from a local research facility at Lubys at about 11:30, left at about 12:30. I was on a plane back to Boston by 2:30. The next morning I heard on the news that at 12:45 a gunmen drove his pickup through the glass doors, opened fire and killed 24 people.

Does that count?

As someone who went back FULL TIME at 47 to get my BS Engineering, I know how hard it is to do this!!! Keep at it!!

I remember telling an elder once just before I left that Jesus saying "Do not hide your light under a basket" was a command for EACH and EVERY one of us to use our god given gifts, talents and intelligence to it's fullest extent. And that that meant getting an education beyond HS, period. Then developing whatever gifts you had, be it music, art, buliding a better Hot Rod, mousetrap, skyscraper . . . . . WHATEVER!!

i decided enough was enough and had a no holds barred conversation with a room of around a dozen 'believers'.

a number of things had been troubling me all night, but the final straw was when my brother-in-law said 'isn't it funny how the acronym std can stand for both, sexually transmitted disease and satan the devil.'.

i couldn't stand the frustration anymore so i pointed out how irrelevant that fact was, and how if we spoke a different language the same conclusion could probably not be made.

Something fishy re: Bhutto attack..

i think somethings fishy.

they're now saying that she died as a result from falling and hitting the roof of the car.

now, i saw pics taken a few seconds before the attack, and she was sticking out 3 feet tops.

I've read a couple reports that state if her death was "accidental" and not a "direct" result of the violence . . .then she would "Not" be a martyr for Islam

And I thought the Borg was fucked up
